Medicine Garden Harvest, Preservation, and Picnic!
About this event
It’s autumn in the garden and you are invited to harvest medicine with us! We’ll be digging roots, plucking flowers, cutting down herbs, and gathering seeds throughout the garden. You'll enjoy full sensory, hands-on plant identification, as well as learning their properties and applications of these fall medicines.
From the garden to the chopping block, we'll be preparing these plants for storage or immediate medicine making. We will discussing triage, optimal storage and preservation methods, harvest techniques, and our own personal favorite ways to enjoy each plant.
Picnic potluck and bonfire to follow, so bring layers and a dish to share. Everyone will leave with seeds, rootlets, and cuttings to make some garden (or medicine) of their own. If you have an extra big fork or shovel, feel free to bring it!
Digging starts at 5pm. Potluck and bonfire at 7pm.
Price: $20--kids attend free with an adult ticket!
No one turned away for lack of funds!
